ACID RAIN POLLUTANT
How would acid rain impact the living things in an aquarium or terrarium? Check it out for yourself!
ACID RAIN Update
Students will be posting their observations and notes based on changes measured during their experiment.
1/7: We added 29 droppers of acid rain. Then we measured the PH of the water, which was 4.5. by Yanit
1/8: We added 29 droppers of acid rain. Then we looked at the PH of the water and the plants color. The water was about the PH of 3.7 and the plants are not green. by Nhat
1/10: We added 29 droppers of acid rain. 95% of our plants have turned brown and died from acid rain. Then we meaured our PH in our ecosystem it is 4.2. by Terrell
1/14/13: We added 29 droppers of acid rain. Then we measured the ph of the water, which was 3.5. By Eleni.

FERTILIZER POLLUTANT
Overuse of fertilizer can have damaging effects on plants and animals in an ecosystem. Watch the changes in our aqarium and terrarium.
FERTILIZER UPDATE
Students will be posting their observations and notes based on changes measured during their experiment.
1/7: We used 20 droppers of fertilizer. Algae is forming and our snails are still alive. By Sangeetha.
1/8: We did 20 drops of fertilizer. The elodea is growing and 2% of the duckweed s heathly. by Kylie
1/10: The snails turned upside down and died.
10% of algae. by: Kendall Davis
1/14: the roots are green with alge. 7% of duck weed out of 10 is heathy. Eloda is more yellow and brown. by Dana

SALT POLLUTANT
Use of salt on roadways is helpful for winter weather, but can be harmful in an ecosystem. Look at the changes in our aqauriums and terrariums.
SALT UPDATE
Students will be posting their observations and notes based on changes measured during their experiment,
1/7: 70% of our plants are green and the average height is about 14-15 centimeters tall. by Arnav
1/8: Plants are 11-10cm tall, no algea, 50% duck weed ,60% plants healthy in ecosystem. Salt crystals are stuck to the walls of the terrarium
By: Nick
1/10: Today a bit of the water evaporated. A snail shell split in half. -Leila
1/14: Today the health of our plants in the terrium is 5% healthy. And are aquarium is 25% healthy.

POLLUTE WITH ALL THREE -- ACID RAIN, FERTILIZER, and SALT
How would all three pollutants impact the plants and animals in an ecosystem? Which pollutant is the most damaging?
ALL 3 POLLUTANTS UPDATE
Students will be posting their observations and notes based on changes measured during their experiment.
1/7: the algee is still green. The snails are still moving. By Michelle
1/8: Today, in the aquarium we saw about 25% algae growing. In the terrarium, all the plants are dead and the soil is very dry. By Saanika
1/14: Some salt is floatng on top of the water. pH of both of the aquriums is 3.5. The plants are also drooping into the soil. By Evan
